Limited Warranty for Reconditioned, Remanufactured or Used Engines           Dated 0/0/00

This limited warranty issued by John's Foreign Engines certifies that engines are warranted to be free of all defects in material and workmanship. Free repair or replacement of defective engine (labor not included) will be provided under normal use and proper maintenance requirements set forth by the manufacturer. Subject to the following terms and  conditions.

1. Definition: Engine: sold as long block only , tested and steamed cleaned. Complete engine with alternator, water pump, distributor, manifolds, carburetor, flywheel, brackets, sending units and/or any other add on accessories. These add on accessories (mentioned above) are complimentary and are sometimes left on for the buyers convenience only. It is the  buyer’s responsibility to change over such accessories and emission control devices as necessary to comply with federal law administrated by the Environmental Protection Agency. the Clean Air Act (42 U.S.C. 1957 et seq.) restricts removal or modifications of any part of an emission control system required for a motor vehicle designed for transporting persons or property on any public street or highway. Add on accessories are specifically excluded from any warranty offered herein.

2. Terms: Standard warranty : 12 months or 12,000 miles ,which ever comes first. Non transferable warranty: Valid only to original purchaser.         Warranty terminates upon sale of vehicle

3. Repair or Replacement: in case of mechanical defect the buyer must notify JOHN'S FOREIGN ENGINES for instructions and authorization prior to making any repairs and or replacements.  If engine is to be replaced it must be returned completely assembled with all of the add on accessories attached. JOHN'S will replace it with a good identical unit within 15 days after receiving notice.

4. No cash refunds: Exchanges only

5. Limitations : Timing belts are not covered by warranty.  Head gasket only covered for 30 days does not cover for blown head gasket due to defective thermostat, water pump, radiator hoses or insufficient coolant.  Gaskets and seals are not covered by warranty and should be inspected by buyer.

The warranty is voided by:

                1. Misuse, Negligence, Alterations , accidents, or fire.

                   2. Improper installation or repair or use of silicone.

                   3. Use of this engine in commercial vehicles or competitive events.

                   4. Failure to follow recommended maintenance requirements.

                   5. Failure to report results of radiator flow test in writing within 7 working days

                   6. Failure to report proof of mileage within 7 working days                           -             -

                   7. Failure to change oil within first 500 miles

                   8. Lack of lubrication and/or overheating

                   9. Any repair or replacement not authorized by JOHN'S

                  10. Sale, installation, use or operation without the original emission control equipment transferred to the replacement engine.

6.LIMITED LIABILITY

1. JOHN'S FOREIGN ENGINES liability under this warranty is solely limited to the repair or replacement of defective used engine. The labor required to repair an engine and/or remove it from a vehicle, and any other expenses relating to turnover,  freight, handling, and other incidental charges for a defective unit are not reimbursable

2. JOHN'S FOREIGN ENGINES   shall not be liable for any consequential , incidental, or special damages, or for any  services not expressly provided heroin relating to or arising from used engine sold by JOHN'S.

IMPORTANT:

1. MUST BE INSTALLED, MAINTAINED OR ADJUSTED BY A QUALIFIED TECHNICIAN.          

2. SET IGNITION TO SPECIFICATIONS AS RECOMMENDED BY MANUFACTURER.

3. CHANGE OIL AND FILTER AT 500 MILES .

4. AT 500 MILES RE‑TORQUE  CYLINDER HEAD AND READJUST VALVES TO MANUFACTURERS SPECS.

5. CHECK COOLING SYSTEM. SERVICE IF RUSTED OR CONTAMINATED WITH OIL; REPLACE COOLANT.

6   FAILURE TO FOLLOW THESE MAINTENANCE REQUIREMENTS VOIDS WARRANTY.
